Welcome. I’m Katya Martin. I’ve been thinking about what the first post on this website should be.
Something professional, probably. A proper introduction. Credentials. Methods. A carefully written explanation of what I do as an online therapist and psychologist.
But that wouldn’t really be an introduction to my world. So let’s start somewhere else.
I believe that good therapy is not about finally fixing everything that is “wrong” with you.
I don’t think you need to become less sensitive, less complicated, less emotional, more convenient, more productive, or endlessly regulated.
I think you need to become more capable of being yourself — without abandoning yourself every time life becomes uncomfortable. That idea sits underneath almost everything I do.
Therapy that goes beyond symptom management
For nearly a decade, I’ve worked with people through psychology, individual psychotherapy, Akashic Records readings and online therapy.
My work includes trauma, anxiety, relationships, attachment, divorce, family patterns, identity, major life transitions, and the nervous system regulation.
I like digging through hard questions:
– Why do we keep choosing relationships that hurt us?
– Why can intimacy feel frightening even when we desperately want it?
– Why can we understand our childhood perfectly and still recreate parts of it in adult relationships?
– Why does the body sometimes continue responding to danger long after the danger itself has passed?
Understanding yourself is not the same as changing your life
There is something I’ve learned again and again through psychological work: insight is incredibly valuable but insight alone does not change a life.
You can understand your childhood perfectly and still repeat it.
You can learn everything about anxious-avoidant attachment and still feel your entire nervous system activate when somebody gets too close — or too far away.
You can understand inner child healing, trauma responses, and nervous system regulation intellectually and still organize your life around avoiding everything that makes you feel vulnerable.
At some point, understanding has to become experience. You have to feel the uncomfortable feelings to break free. You have to choose not to abandon yourself when you feel uncomfortable, give yourself and your inner child all the support, over and over and over again. And eventually build a life that actually belongs to you.
Psychology, intuition, and the Akashic Records
Somewhere along the way, my work expanded beyond traditional psychological frameworks. I became interested not only in why we are the way we are, but also in the parts of human experience that psychology does not always have language for.
Like intuition, generational patterns and the things we sometimes know before we can explain how we know them. That eventually brought the Akashic Records into my work.
I am a Certified Akashic Records Practitioner and Teacher, and I offer both Akashic Records readings and Akashic Records training.
For me psychology and spiritual practice are not competing worlds. Psychology can help us understand our attachment patterns, trauma responses, relationships, emotions, and the ways our nervous system learned to protect us. The Akashic Records offer a different kind of exploration — one that can bring perspective to recurring patterns, relationships, life transitions, and questions that may feel larger than our personal history alone.
I don’t use the Akashic Records to predict the future or tell people what they should do. The Records are approached consciously and without trance. The purpose is not to give away your authority, but to help you see your life from a wider perspective and make your own choices with greater clarity.
Sometimes an Akashic Records reading brings language to something a person has felt for years but could never quite name. Sometimes it illuminates a family or generational pattern. Sometimes it simply opens a completely different way of looking at a question that has felt impossible to solve from inside it.
And this is where my two worlds meet.
Whether I am working psychologically or through the Akashic Records, I am interested in the same thing: helping people understand themselves more deeply without handing their power over to someone else.

I’m not interested in creating the best version of you
We live in a strange time. Everywhere you look, someone is selling you a better version of yourself. More healed. More productive. More regulated. More successful. Less anxious. Less complicated.
I’m not particularly interested in any of that. I’m interested in something much more alive.
– How do you stop abandoning yourself when being yourself becomes uncomfortable?
– How do you learn to tolerate freedom — including the uncertainty and responsibility that come with it?
– How do you know what is actually yours — your desire, your fear, your choice — and what was handed to you years ago by your family, your relationships, or the world around you?
And once you know… What are you going to do with it?
Welcome to my world. This is where we talk about all of it.
With love, Katya ❤️
